Michelangelo, short for Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni was an Italian painter, sculptor, architect and a poet but he was famously renowned for his in-depth, detailed paintings. Michelangelo was born on the 6th of March 1475 in Caprese Michelangelo, Italy. He was the son of a government administer and grew up in Florence.

He found joy in the creativity and freedom of art and was quickly recruited by the well-know Italian painter Domenico Ghirlandaio and became his apprentice at the young age of 13, in the early years of his life he displayed technique and talent within his artworks. Throughout his childhood he was recognized by the community and soon was noticed by Lorenzo De' Medici who was astonished with the talent that Michelangelo had at a very young age, because of this, Michelangelo was discovered by many and was given once in a lifetime opportunities. At the age of 14 Michelangelo was invited by Medici to attend his school of sculpture and arts, Michelangelo was quick to take up the offer.

Madonna La Pietà displayed in Vatican City

Madonna La Pietà (known as La Pietà) is a gorgeous marble sculpture that was handcrafted by Michelangelo from 1498–1499,
"The Pietà" was a commonly found as an interest among Northern Europeans and still is today, Michelangelo was deeply interested in creating art that represented The Son of God and the creator of life. Madonna La Pietà means Pity or Compassion. This sculpture depicts the Virgin Mary cradling her son you can see the intricate details that went into the carving, this marble sculpture represents "The Sixth Sorrow" in the Bible and is still displayed in Saint Peter's Basilica, In Vatican City.

The creation of Adam (painted throughout 1508–1512 in the Sistine Chapel) once again went down in history as one of the most hypnotic, elegant paintings of all time. This painting is one of the many eye-catching paintings of the Sistine Chapel Ceiling and portrays the innovative and magnificent mind from Michelangelo. The meaning behind this painting is the creation of life and the humanity through in which god created. Michelangelo influenced many with his mesmerizing pieces of art whether it be paintings or sculptures Michelangelo always had a way of making an artwork shine, through his early stages of creating art he was still new to the industry and had a lot to learn from. His skill and technique improved over the years and you can visibly see this in his artwork specifically this piece as it resembles the touch through God and Adam also known as "Life."

As for Historical Significance Michelangelo has influenced many with his graceful pieces, his style of painting grossed many followers for his paintings over time and became quite popular during the 1600-1800s as more young and aspiring artists learnt from him, he was a mentor, idol and inspiration for many. As of now his paintings are still relevant specifically in Italy, he is still brought up to this day in the topic of art and is remembered for his talent and elegance.

His pieces touched many during the Renaissance period, people were deeply indulged in the beauty of his art. He even influenced artists that became world recognized such as Raffaello Sanzio, Auguste Rodin, Peter Paul Rubens and many more. His intelligence and skill attracted people to learn more about him and his artworks became a popular interest in the Renaissance Period. Michelangelo had unbelievable skill and talent in arts that he even inspired the Mannerist period, the Counter-Reformation, and the Baroque, Michelangelos motive with his arts was to preach the gospel and show others that God and Life is not scary and is in fact beautiful and angelic.

Bacchus, sculpted by Michelangelo from 1496-1497, it is a beautiful marble stone sculpture that was another one of Michelangelo's famous sculptures. This statue represents Bacchus, The roman god of wine that is perceived to be drunk almost all the time.

Without Michelangelo the art industry wouldn't have evolved DURING THAT PERIOD of time. Michelangelo created a style of art that was purely to tell a story and share his passion with everyone. Although other artists had the same passion he felt connected with art in a spiritual aspect. He shared biblical stories through imagery and art, crafting, sculpting etc. Art would have changed through the more modern times but during the Renaissance Period it would not have created an elegant style of painting that changed the industry with not only a visual aspect but a spiritual aspect. Michelangelo's paintings told stories just by looking at it. It is eye-catching and mesmerizing, this changed peoples opinions on art during the 1500s-1600s.
